Just wanted to share our joy with the world! We are ecstatic!
I don't know if anyone has noticed it, down on the bottom right of my column is a cute little widget from babystrology. It shows the development of our little monkey and how many days we have left to go. Currently 201.
I often find myself staring at that floating little image, caught up in a day dream of what is to come. I'm caught between the "sunshine and roses" idea and the 'exhaustion and fear' one. Making a baby was easier than I thought, raising a child, well they say it takes a villiage for a reason I think.
I feel like that volcano that is erupting in Hawaii... except I can't seem to spew. Just lots of noxious gases, terrible rumblings, and anguished contorting of my insides. Ah the joys of pregnancy! :)
We are 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant... and my pants are just about not fitting any longer... what a shame, I will need to shop! :) Thankfully this season, longer shirts are in... these will be useful as maternity tops.
The only cravings that I've had include regular foods, but they are almost always the first thing I think of when I am hungry, which is almost always suddenly. Ice cream (an old favourite), pizza (quick and easy), Whoppers (never eat them, must be the baby - I'm a McD's junky generally speaking), chocolate milk, and chips (I rarely ate them before, too salty).
I haven't stepped on the dreaded scale this week, but as of last week I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight (had put some 7lbs on - must have been bloating, cause it's gone).
I'm still kinda thankful that I'm not puking, but the constant nausea kind of gets to you too... where you just say the hell with it, let me puke already!
Heading to Maine with the girls in 10 days for baby shopping! Yippee!
Thanks all for the well wishes... it's exciting times for us indeed.
Morning Sickness: well, let me tell you... it's not limited to the morning and it's guised as throwing up all the time. I wish. I would say that 80% of the hours that I'm awake I feel nausea - even to the point where I run to the bathroom and expect the inevitable... and then nothing. Well not nothing... a trucker burp.... a scary, shake the pictures on the walls burp. lol and then it's over until the next wave.
I can't complain I guess - I recognize that some women have it way worse than I do... but I'm not used to all of this exhaustion and nausea.
We're into week 9 now.... 31 more to go! lol Feels like forever from now.
We just celebrated my 32nd bday - low key... which was perfect. Aju's 33rd is just 2 short weeks away. No idea what we're going to do about celebrating for him. Perhaps I'll have some energy back by the 2nd trimester.
